Newbury Geological Study Group (NGSG) | How we are run
Listed below is our proposed program for 2018/2019. Our season runs from September to June . There is usually a £10.00 fee per person per trip payable on the day (children under 16 are free). This goes towards running the Group, covering expenses like insurance and the web site and the fee of our geological consultant (Les James). We do not aim to make a profit.
Use of the minibus is optional. It will leave from Newbury at a time to be advised for each trip. Normally there will be at least one short comfort break on route. Cost for a long day trips will be around £15.00. The £10.00 NGSG fee mentioned above is payable in addition to this. The minibus can sometimes fill up very quickly, and if this happens space will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. We are only paying for the use of the vehicle plus parking and tolls, with one of our members driving as a volunteer.
The away trip will include Geology on the Saturday and Sunday. Members may like to travel on the Friday or can join us at the first site on Saturday morning. The charge for this years trip will be £15.00 (minbus extra).
